With a creak and a crack, the egg pops open! The hatchling is bald and begs loudly for food.
Hatchling s2 icon Mature Hatchling
This young dragon has grown a soft fur coat, but it hasn't grown much larger. It doesn't seem to see very well, either.
Adult icon Adult
One of the smallest dragons known, Bat dragons are easily mistaken for actual bats. They are easily identifiable by their large ears and characteristic high-pitched screeching. Bat dragons use echolocation to hunt and move about, as they have weak eyesight. Their primary prey is insects, but they occasionally will go for lizards and other small animals. The patch of lighter fur on their chests is a symbol of their age - the older the dragon, the more pale fur it has. The oldest discovered are nearly all white.
