Ilio Dragon

The Ilio Dragon was released on February 27, 2013. It was released alongside the Stagnum Hydra and is a male-only breed.

There was a glitch during the early hours of the release which caused some Ilio Dragons to gender female, however all glitched dragons have been fixed.

It was revealed that the X gene of the species is faulty and because females are double XX they're almost completely guarenteed to get a mutation at a fatal level that kills them before they're born.

Coloring[]

This dragon features 7 colours; 3 primary and 4 secondary colours.

It was confirmed by Corteo that eggs that are either lair born or produced from parents that do not initiate a secondary colour have their colouration dependent on how long it takes the egg to hatch. The time frames for these colors are still hypothetical, and it is believed each color has a 12 hour time frame. (IE: Hatching time is less than 12 hrs = red, between 12 and 24 = yellow, and more than 24 = blue)

The secondary colors are obtained through breeding in the same way colors are obtained when mixing colors in the real world (Such as red combining with yellow giving you orange). This goes hand and hand with their 'selective breeding' description.

It appears those with an alt version will breed based on the normal alt color.

Adult
Ilio Dragons have been carefully bred over the generations as companions for humans. This selective breeding has led to a large variety of colors, temperaments, and sizes within the species. It’s said that there is a breed of Ilio Dragon suitable to every circumstance and personality type; however, this same selective breeding has had some negative consequences. The garish colors of their scales and their inborn trust of humanity makes life in the wild nearly impossible. As such, Ilio Dragons have become all but extinct outside captivity. The wild progenitor of Ilio Dragons has also been lost over the years.
